American Quartz Group breaks ground at former Yellow Freight facility
The former Yellow Freight Systems trucking terminal sprang to life last week as the American Quartz Group hosted a groundbreaking of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on Lenwood Road.
The American Quartz Group’s multi-million dollar facility in Barstow will be the first quartz-surface manufacturer on the West Coast and one of the few in the entire U.S.
The groundbreaking event included Barstow Mayor Julie Hackbarth-McIntyre, city officials, Chairman of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Curt Hagman, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, and Daniel Sieu, Minority Business Development Agency, U.S. Department of Commerce.
Hackbarth-McIntyre, who presented the company with the key to the city, said the City of Barstow will “endeavor to write the pages of history by demonstrating the level of industry professionalism that will be brought to the region and state by the addition of the American Quartz Group.”
